Research

Respiratory Health Association plays an important role in research. Unfortunately, lung disease research is underfunded, slowing gains in knowledge, diagnosis and treatment progress. RHA actively works to address this by supporting clinical trial studies, participating in research collaborations, and funding innovative lung health research.

If you’d like to help fund RHA’s research efforts, contact Joel Africk, President and Chief Executive Officer, via email at jafrick@lungchicago.org or by phone at (312) 628-0220.

Clinical Trials

RHA engages with community partners to support lung health research trials. These clinical trial studies are designed to determine the safety and effectiveness of new medications, medical devices or other treatment options.

Collaborations

RHA participates in community-centered research that aims to improve outcomes for children and adults living with lung disease.

RHA Funding Opportunities

RHA funds ground-breaking lung disease research at major institutions in metropolitan Chicago. These grants are designed to aid local scientists/investigators in generating the preliminary data necessary to compete for future federal funding.
